Heater Panel Cover For The Digital Control Pad on Pool Heat Pump

AquaCal swimming pool heat pumps are built with corrosion resistant cabinets and titanium heat exchangers. This prevents damage from the sun’s strong UV rays and from corrosion, especially in coastal locations and areas that experience severe summers, such as Florida.

While these features protect the case and extend the life of the heat exchangers, the digital control pad may be more vulnerable to extreme weather. Although weather-related damage to the control pad is rare, and usually occurs slowly over time, many pool owners wonder if there is a product that can keep their control pads looking new for as long as possible. Actually, there is.

Even though you do not need to cover your control panels as they are built to withstand the elements, AquaCal offers an aftermarket heater panel cover for owners who want an added layer of protection. The cover installs easily on your HeatWave SuperQuiet heat pump. The cover is made of clear plastic, has stainless a steel hinge, and attaches easily to your existing display. In addition to protecting your panel from the elements, the AquaCal heater panel cover is also lockable, which can prevent tampering.

You can order the heater panel cover directly from AquaCal.

In our response to customer concerns over the long-term effects of the elements, our new units will include a more durable display panel that will protect the display from the harshest UV rays and detrimental effects of the weather.

  1. When I tap the mode or pool/spa buttons it’ll show to locked. When I unlock it it’s like those buttons don’t work at that point, yet like I said it recognized the buttons earlier bc it would say it’s locked. Meaning I unlock it and then I can’t change modes and turn the heater on? It’s never had this issue before.

    1. Hi David,
When you swipe across the buttons to unlock the keypad, the display should briefly show “UNL” for unlock or “KEYPAD UNLOCKED” with our newer units. If you don’t see the unlock message try powering the unit down and back up. If you are still unable to unlock the display or if the buttons are not responding, you will probably need to replace the display.

  2. The digital display lights up and shows heat set temp and existing temp, but it will not kick on , I have waited 15 minutes but the it will not start.

  3. If this control panel goes out (is damaged) will it make my heater not work even though I have a remote control?

    1. Good Afternoon Randy,
      Hope you are doing well.
In most cases, the display panel has no display or is partial, the unit can still be run by remote control. However, actual damage to the control panel can cause a communication error between the control panel & the microprocessor board inside the heater. This will cause the unit to not run even by remote control.
This most likely would just involve replacing the panel to get this running correctly. Please feel free to call us at 727-823-5642 for furter assistance.
