Some pool systems utilize a timer to control the pool filter pump on a time-of-day basis. If your pool system incorporates a timer, use the following Instructions:

  • It will be necessary to allow your pool circulation pump to run continuously until the pool has reached the desired temperature.
  • If a timer controls your pump, it will be necessary to override the timer to temporarily allow for 24hr. pump operation.
  • Once the desired temperature has been obtained (this may take up to four days), you should reset your pump time clock for normal operating hours.

REMEMBER… The Heat Pump can only operate when the circulation pump is running.  Therefore, in order to keep up with increased heat loss during cooler weather, it may be necessary to extend the pump’s daily hours of operation.
