Heat Pump Sizing/Pool Audit Program
The AquaCal Heat Pump Sizing Program is a free program that helps you determine the correct AquaCal heat pump for your pool based on location, pool size, and intended length of swimming season.
The program will also compare the cost of running a heat pump versus other methods of pool heating.

System Requirements
- Supported Operating Systems: Windows XP Service Pack 2; Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1
- JavaScript: JavaScript or client side scripting is required and must be enabled
Instructions
How to download and install the program
- Click the Download button on this page to start the download.
- To download the file to your computer for installation at a later time, click Save File.
- After downloading is complete, navigate to where the file is located and double-click on it to launch the unpacking and installation program.
How to use the program
- Launch the Pool Audit program (usually by clicking the icon on your desktop)
- Select Pool Audit on taskbar at top
- Select New Pool Audit at bottom
- Select State/Country
- Select City (or the one closest to you) under Sizing Based on Weather Statistics for:
- Check the boxes for the first and last half of each month you desire to use the pool
- Fill in the remaining required fields (in yellow)
- Select Pool Sizing/Heating Requirements tab at bottom
- Fill in the required fields. If you don't know the length and width of the pool, you can enter surface area and average depth or you can enter gallons. Average depth is also required when entering length and width.
- Select Wind Conditions. Select Yes if the pool is on the ocean, a large lake or golf course
- Temperature Differential will be the difference between the average temperature on the coldest day in your selected swim season (from first screen) and your desired pool water temperature
- Select type of unit you want to use from dropdown menu for Show Units Below for Type:
- Select a model under each column, Blanket, No Blanket and Liquid Blanket
- If information pops up in red, you must do one of the following
- Select a different model heat pump
- Select multiple heat pumps
- Change the swim season expectations
- Select the gas type
- Enter the cost per gallon and electric KwH rate for your area in the required fields under Energy Profile
- Select Cost Comparison tab at the bottom
- Choose your desired Cost Comparison under AquaCal Savings: 1 year, 5 years or 10 years
- You can then print or save the comparison by selecting the option at the bottom
